A group of pupils from Year 2 joined up wth children from other local schools at Teignmouth Community School’s Sports Hall to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of aesthetic activities.
Firstly, they experienced a very dynamic dance activity based on superheroes. Initially they followed the leaders in a group dance before breaking off into pairs to develop their action dance further.
Next they had trampolining, moving from single actions and then onto developing sequences incorporating higher levels of difficulty.
Following a much needed refreshment break the group experienced yoga, putting together puzzles to form various postures which they then had to practice and hold, using control and breathing.
The group then moved onto gymnastics, again working on individual skills before putting them together in a dynamic sequence of vaults and rolls.
For the finale all the schools came together to perform the superhero dance as a large group.
An impressive morning with lots of requests to do it again!
